Understanding Book Conditions at Curious Owl Books

All our secondhand books are carefully assessed and honestly described. Here's what each condition rating means:

As New / Like New

The book appears unread with no visible wear. Pages are crisp and clean, binding is tight, and the cover shows no signs of use. Dust jackets (if applicable) are intact and unmarked.

Very Good

The book shows minimal signs of reading. May have minor shelf wear on the cover or spine. Pages are clean with no markings. Binding remains tight and secure. An excellent reading copy.

Good

The book has been read but remains in solid condition. May show moderate wear to covers and spine. Pages are intact and clean, though edges may show slight aging. Binding is sound. A great reading copy at a value price.

Acceptable

The book shows significant wear from reading and age. Covers may be creased or worn, pages may have some yellowing or foxing. May contain previous owner's name or minor markings. Binding is intact and all pages are present. Still perfectly readable.
